Character interview with Mark and Gabe from the novel Buried Treasure by DC Juris

Hi, and welcome to Sex Marks the G-Spot.  Today our guests are Mark and Gabe from the novel Buried Treasure by author DC Juris and published by Breathless press.
Mark, Gabe please sit down and make yourselves comfortable.  So Mark, we can start with you.  Why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Well, there isn't much to tell. I've got two brothers and one sister, two adorable little nephews – my sister's kids. I work for an accounting firm. That's pretty much it.
Ok, Gabe how about you?  Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
::rolls eyes:: Mark's being modest. He's got an amazing flare for interior design. Me, I'm just a worker-bee. I like my job at the nursing home.
Mark: And he looks a little like Captain Jack Sparrow, doesn't he?  ::tugs on Gabe's mustache::
Gabe: ::laughs and bats his hand away:: I do not!
Mark, my notes say that your father lives in the nursing home where Gabe works.  I know it’s always hard to place a parent, or loved one someplace like that, but sometimes they need the care.  Can you tell us a little bit about your father?
::chuckle:: Dad's a character. Growing up he was always the stoic type who occasionally had those moments when you knew he was really just a big softie. Things were rough between us when I came out, but we got past that. He has Alzheimer's now, and that's tough.
My notes say a few things about dark secrets, but I’m not going to get into that stuff at this point.  I mean who wants their dark secrets out in the open anyway, right?  We’ll just skip those...Ok, so Gabe, you asked Mark out one day?  What was it that first brought you two together?  And what did you see in Mark?
::grins and glances over at Mark:: What's not to see in him? He's a hunk! But seriously, we'd spent a lot of time talking over the years when he'd come visit his dad, and I'd always found him interesting and attractive. To be honest, though, it was his standoffishness that got me – I just had to try and crack that shell!
Gabe, Mark, can you tell us a little bit about the nursing home?  I know some of them can be awful places, but I’m told the one where Gabe works is pretty nice?
Mark: Miller's is fabulous. It's run by dedicated staff who really take very good care of the people there. My family and I did a lot of research before we decided on a place for dad, and we'd heard wonderful things about Millers.
Gabe: ::blushes:: Well, people are important to us. We treat our residents the way we'd want our own family to be treated.
“Dawne, Mark’s dad is in a nursing home!  Your mom isn’t ready for one yet, is she?  Oh, that’s right, your dad’s still alive and they take care of each other.  Mine?  No, my dad made me promise him years ago that he’d never be put in a home no matter what, and yeah, my mom’s still up and kicking, too!”

Sorry fells, sometimes I like to yell back into that back office and let Dawne know how the interview is going.  Back to our interview, Mark I guess you had a bit of a problem with your last boyfriend?  Can you tell us a bit about him?
Gabe: Donald was a giant—
Mark: ::glares at Gabe:: Donald and I had our differences. He couldn't cope with some issues I was going through, and it drove us apart. He was a little overwhelmed.
Gabe:  ::mumbles:: Giant douche bag, is what he was.

Well that’s about all the time we have for today, I’d really like to thank both Mark and Gabe for being here and allowing us this time with them!  Gentlemen, is there anything you’d like to add before we finish up?
Mark: Just our thanks for having us! We've never done anything like this. It was kinda fun!
Gabe: And buy Daniel's book!
Mark: Oh, yes – definitely buy Daniel's book!

Both Dawne and I heartily agree, definitely pick up Daniel's book!
